Below you will find a video that shows one of my go-to patterns. The Falling Leaf Pattern is one I encourage my students to build as a rote skill. This pattern is a powerful arrow to have in your quiver should
- your horse becomes excitable and need to move his feet in a productive way
- you are playing with a new horse who is exhibiting dominant/pushy behavior
- your horse is distracted by lots of activity and you need a way to bring his attention back to you
- you want to work on your “tool savvy” and develop the skills for Level 3/4
Loved that video! My horse is RB and it’s nice to have another tool to help him connect with me instead of his environment, other horses, etc.
Really good demonstration. Clarified some things for me on this exercise. Will be trying this soon.
